The Life/Career Success System - Strategic Goal Setting

STRATEGIC GOAL SETTING

Now you are going to take the first step in turning the invisible into the visible, making all your dreams a reality - no longer a wish list now an action plan! By the time you have finished, you will have created for yourself anticipation so great, a future so compelling, that you can’t help but take the first steps today. We’ll be covering the following seven areas of your life:

Health
Family
Financial
Business / Career
Intellectual
Social
Spiritual

For each of these you’ll have a set period of time in which to brainstorm. You will then write rapidly - keep your pen moving, don’t limit or censor yourself, just get it all down on paper. Constantly ask yourself, “what would I want for my life if I knew I could have it any way I wanted it?” “ What would I go for if I know I could not fail?” Suspend the need to know precisely how. Just discover what it is you truly want. Do this without questioning or doubting your capability. After this is done complete the section above.

It is important for you to develop the ability to have faith and persevere you can create anything you want. After you have formulated all that you desire in these seven areas get ready to work with your Strategic Life Action Plan©. You will need to formulate your long-term goals and then set the number one goal over the preceding 31 days. Then state the objectives for the seven areas over the next 31 days. REMEMBER - the following about writing your goals and objectives.

  ·  Be specific
  ·  They need to be measurable
  ·  Will need to be attainable
  ·  Be realistic
  ·  Will be tangible
  ·  Above all inspirational
  ·  Have your emotional investment
  ·  Always stating a positive outcome

HOW TO MAKE YOUR GOALS REAL

Now that you have a set of compelling goals and clear-cut reasons for their achievement, the process for making the goals real has already begun. Viewing your Strategic Life Action Plan© daily will be a trigger mechanism; as you consistently review your goals and reasons, this will attract to you any resource of value toward the achievement of your clearly defined desires. You will write these goals for each month - review and measure what is working and what is not working for you. Trust your intuition and determine what is not working as no longer being needed. At this time you may need to reassess your values hierarchy.

To ensure the absolute attainment of your goals - you need to condition your nervous system in advance to feel the pleasure they will surely bring. At least twice a day it is suggested that this should be first thing in the morning and last thing at night; you will rehearse and emotionally enjoy the experience of achieving each one of your most valued goals. It is a great experience to create the emotional joy as you see, feel and hear yourself living your dreams.

This continuous focus will create the neural pathway between where you are and where you are intending to go. This intense conditioning will give you a sense of absolute certainty that you will achieve your desires. Your confidence will allow you to attract the appropriate coaches and role models that will guide you in taking the most effective actions to produce results quickly rather than the traditional trial-and-error method that you may have already experienced.

THE PURPOSE OF THE GOAL

Goals are a means to an end, not the ultimate purpose of our lives. They are the tools to concentrate our focus and move us in a direction. We use goals to assist ourselves in expansion and growth. The achievement of goals by themselves will never make us truly happy in the long term. It is who we become, what we overcome - the obstacles - that create the deepest and most long-lasting sense of fulfilment. Real growth and change in the person we are is the ultimate aim.

WHAT KIND OF PERSON WILL I HAVE TO BECOME IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE ALL THAT I WANT?

Take a moment now and write a paragraph describing all the character traits, skills, abilities, attitudes, and beliefs that you would need to develop in order to achieve all of the goals you’ve written down previously:

The kind of person I need to become

Beliefs
Attitudes
Abilities
Skills
